Giving to STEP STEP - GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
The average annual income in Haiti is $300 and the unemployment rate is
approximately 70%. This financial crisis makes it extremely difficult for the
students to pay for the $3,000 per year cost of their seminary training. To the
extent that gifts are made to the seminary for scholarships, faculty support,
operations, and quality of life programs the amount required from the students
is reduced. Tuition for 2004-05 school year has been set at $1300, still an
amount that many qualified students cannot afford to pay. STEP provides
scholarships to the students to reduce their individual cost of seminary
training.
Without the faithful support of Christian donors from around the world, STEP
would not be able to sustain its operations. However, God has faithfully
provided for many years and we trust Him for our future.
If you would like to contribute to STEP's ministry, please make your check payable to CrossWorld and mail to CrossWorld, P.O. Box 306, Bala-Cynwyd, PA 19004. In the memo section of your check mark "STEP-Haiti". The specific areas where gifts will have significant impact are:

- Quality of Life – Since STEP classes are in late afternoon and night,
many of our students come to classes without having eaten during the day and
we try to provide food for them at little or no cost.
- TEAM –STEP – The salary paid our faculty is often not sufficient to
make major purchases or home improvements and Haitian banks charge interest
as high as 25% on loans. Team-STEP is a loan program that makes loans to
faculty at a 5% rate and a maximum of 5-year loan amortization.
- Community Development – The seminary is located in an impoverished
area that lacks basic services such as electricity, water, sanitation and
health care. Funds contributed enable STEP to partner with the community in
strategic development and relief projects.
